Class Size
While many school districts are experiencing a decline in their
number of students, Menands School has reached the highest
enrollment in its history.
We currently have 259 students in kindergarten through eighth
grade. While we are
fortunate to have two homeroom sections at some grade levels, high
enrollment is a challenge in the grade levels in which there is only
one section. We
currently have 30 students in kindergarten, for example.
We have addressed this large class size by providing Mrs.
Keppler’s class with the support of a full-time teacher’s assistant
(Mrs. Stanton), as well as considerable support by our speech
therapist, our academic intervention teachers, and our English as a
second language teacher.
