Teacher Professional Development Days
By September of 2012, all public schools in the state need to be in
full implementation of the new Common Core Learning Standards.
At Menands, we are being very ambitious in ensuring that our
teachers have the professional development needed to transition to
the changes required by the State Education Department.
Although some of this work can be done in the summer, we need
to get a jump on the changes well before July and August.
As such, on some days of the regular school year, a
substitute teacher may be teaching your child’s class so that your
child’s teacher can participate in a professional development or
curriculum writing session.
