Sept. 18 update from Dr. Long and Mrs. Cannavo

Dear Parents and Families,

We had a fantastic first week of school and it was so great to welcome our students back, whether in person or remote. We hope they were as excited to see us as we were to see them!  A few reminders and some updates:

Daily Attestation

An attestation must be completed daily for all students attending in person.  Please submit it as early as possible but no later than 7:30 a.m.

If you need assistance contact Liz Mentiply at (518) 465-4561, ext. 119 or via email at

Arrival & Dismissal

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we have implemented our new arrival and dismissal procedures. In just a few days we have it down to a pretty good system. Just a few reminders and requests:

  • Since we have two distinct arrival and dismissal times, please continue to adhere to the drop off and pick up times.
  • When picking your child up, please remain in your vehicle in your designated spot, a staff member will escort your child to your vehicle, via one of the crosswalks.
  • Please do not call out to your child, as we do not want them running into or across the road.
  • Beginning next week, the designated parking spaces will be numbered, and you will be given a sign for your vehicle that includes your number.

Albany County Department of Health & Health Office Updates

Yesterday, we received an update from the Albany County Department on how we must respond in the event a child is experiencing any symptoms, or if there were to be a confirmed case.

Albany County Department of Health Protocol: Screening for COVID-19

Albany County Department of Health: School Reopening FAQs

In the event your child is experiencing even one symptom, you should keep them at home and contact Ms. D’Ambro at (518) 465-4561, ext. 109. She will guide you through what is required before your child is able to return to school. We appreciate your cooperation.

Virtual Parents Night

Mark your calendars! Next Thursday, September 24th, will be our Virtual Parents Night. More information will be forthcoming next week.

Several of our families have expressed an interest in having their children attend the YMCA’s after school Y-Time Program.  We need three more students to enroll to meet the threshold to run the program. If you are interested in having your child participate, please contact the YMCA directly at (518) 869-3500, ext. 1320 or via the CDYMCA website.

Continue to monitor our school webpage for the most current and up to date information. As always, if you have any questions, or if there is assistance or clarification we can provide, do not hesitate to contact us.
