Sept. 24: Friday Update

Dear Parents and Families,

We had a great week here at Menands School! We hosted our virtual Parents’ Night last night. If you did not have the opportunity to participate, the links to the presentations continue to be accessible via this link.  Also, after school sports and club registrations are available here. The links to clubs will be closed when they meet maximum capacity. At present both the Arts & Crafts Club and Tennis Club are full.  We will continue to accept registration through next week, and plan for clubs to begin the week of Monday October 4th.

Since our last update, we have had two positive cases of COVID-19 in the Menands School community. Anyone considered a close contact was notified directly by school staff. Please remember that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict the district from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information and that includes identifying anyone who has tested positive.

The COVID-19 transmission rate in Albany County continues to be high (red);  all current safety protocols will remain in place. Please remember, if your child is ill or experiencing symptoms, keep them home from school and contact our school nurse for further guidance.

As always, should you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out. Have a wonderful weekend!
