It was an exciting day here at Menands on Thursday, September 5 as students returned for the 2019-20 school year!
There were many smiling faces as students were able to walk through the new school entrance, browsed through renovated classrooms, and stored books and supplies in their brand new lockers!
We watched as some students navigated their new surroundings with the help of staff and saw friends reconnect and new relationships being forged.
Buses, classrooms and hallways were buzzing as teachers, staff and students were greeted by New York State Education Department Acting Commissioner Beth Berlin! Berlin spent the morning at Menands School talking with administrators, greeting students and visiting classrooms. You can check out the visit on the WNYT website.
A special thank you to Acting Commissioner Berlin for spending her morning with us! And thank you to all of our teachers, staff and students for a terrific first day!
Welcome back! We hope you have a great year ahead!
