Discussion Items
Building Project Update – CSARCH-Representatives from CS Arch presented the Board with an update in regards to the building project.
Long Range Financial Analysis-Bernard P. Donegan, Inc- A representative from Bernard P. Donegan gave a presentation to the Board.
NYS Assessment Scores- Mrs. Schroder presented information on the NYS Assessment test scores.
Board Goals 2019-2020- Dr. Long updated the Board on the district’s goals for 2019-2020 school year.

District Management Response Letter
Enclosed for the Board’s approval is the district’s response to the Management Letter in the district external audit as completed by West & Co., CPS’s for the year ended 6/30/19 which require no significant corrective actions. The financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the respective financial position of the governmental activities, each major fund and the aggregate remaining fund information of the Menands UFSD as of 6/30/19 and the respective changes in financial position and, where applicable, cash flows thereof for the then year ended in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the USA.

Donation of Various School Supplies for the 2019-2020 School Year
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District accept the following donation of various school supplies:
- Mrs. Vanessa Mercado- Spiral Notebooks, loose leaf paper, pens and 2 pocket folders.
- Simmons Machine Tool- Binders, notebooks, pens and other supplies.
- The McCarthy Family- $40. $20 for each child’s homeroom use.
- Alyssa Blake Class of 2019- 5 soccer balls to the Soccer Club.

Parent Transportation Contract
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the attached Parent transportation contract, for the 2019-2020 school year at the fixed rate per mile allowed by the IRS.

Trustee to Schoharie Area Workers’ Comp. Trust – Kathleen Cietek, Dr. Maureen Long (Alternate)
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District upon the recommendation of the Superintendent appoint Kathy Cietek and Dr. Maureen Long (Alternate) to serve as Trustee to the Schoharie Area Workers’ Comp.Trust for the 2019-2020 school year.

Special Education Support Program – The Research Foundation for the State of New York (SUNY RF) Enclosed for review and approval of the Board is a contract from The Research Foundation for the State of New York (SUNY RF) for the Special Education Internship Program for the 2019-2020 school year in the amount of $5,750.

Enclosed for the Board is a copy of the 2019-2020 Agreement for Services contract from the Wildwood School for one student attending the Program at a cost of $53,471.

Increase Existing Compensation Time
Increase the compensation time from the existing 40 hours per year to “Not to exceed” 250 hours per year for the Maintenance Mechanic and Custodial positions.

It is requested that the Board approve the attached revised list of staff member compensation during the 2019-2020 school year for work performed outside of the regular school day as per the MAT contract.

14. SUPERINTENDENT’S COMMENTS
Recent and Upcoming Professional Development- Dr. Long is looking forward to the upcoming professional development conferences and workshops. Great opportunity for everyone to learn, grow and share.
Thank you Village of Menands:- Dr. Long thanked the Menands Police department and the Village of Menands for being available when needed and all of their help.

15. PRINCIPAL’S COMMENTS
PTA Updates- Mrs. Schroder thanked the PTA for sponsoring the Every Child Travel Safely event. Another great event that was well attended.
16. MISCELLANEOUS
Mr. Nevins said that the Every Child Travel Safely was a great event and appreciate the work that the PTA does.
Mr. Masline would like to further discuss the changing graduation requirements being recommended by SED.
