School Social Worker

With a population of approximately 300 students, Menands Union Free School District is a unique K-8 school and district.  We are a very supportive school community, and work collaboratively to meet the diverse needs of our students in a nurturing environment. 

Menands School is accepting applications for a full time probationary School Social Worker.  The successful candidate will provide counseling services and support to students, support for parents and families in conjunction with community based services, and serve as a resource for students and families in transitional housing.   They will work closely with our school counselor and psychologist, and be an integral member of the instructional support team. Interested candidates should have NYS School Social Worker certification (LCSW preferred).  Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience and who are willing to become involved in extracurricular activities and be a contributing member of the school community.

Elementary Classroom Teacher (anticipated intermediate level)

Menands School is accepting applications for an anticipated probationary elementary positions.  The successful candidate must possess the necessary NYS certification to teach in grades K-6. Preference will be given to individuals who hold dual or multiple certifications and who have relevant experience; as well as those who are willing to become involved in extracurricular activities and be a contributing member of the school community.

Special Education Teacher

Menands School is accepting applications for a full time probationary Special Education teacher to begin in September.  The ideal candidate will bring an understanding and respect for children and families from diverse backgrounds, and a strong knowledge of special education.   Preference will be given to candidates with experience and a strong desire for working with children with high needs including autism, sensory and behavioral needs, and providing leadership in non-traditional classroom settings. 

Applicants must possess NYS special education certification, and who are willing to become involved in extracurricular activities and be a contributing member of the school community.

Teacher Aide

The successful candidate will provide classroom support for students during the school day; assisting with organization & management, including implementation of behavior plans.  Preferred applicants will have experience working in a classroom.

Monday through Friday, 8:00-3:00. $12.50 -$16 per hour dependent upon experience. Candidates must have a high school diploma. Start date is September 7, 2021.
