Student Support

The Menands School District wants to support all students and their families, which is why our school offers a variety of resources from counseling to special education services.

The Support Services Office is an informative resource to take care of the academic and social/emotional well-being of our students, their parents/guardians and school staff members. Together we can build a team that will be better prepared to monitor and assist with the progress of each student.

School Counseling

In partnership with parents and school staff, School Counselors provide all students with support for academic achievement, college and career readiness and development of social/emotional skills.  Students may receive classroom based, small group, individual and crisis counseling.

School Social Work

School social workers support students to achieve school success by advocating for their emotional, mental and physical wellbeing. School social workers collaborate with families and school staff to provide students with individual, group and crisis counseling. Through working with the school social worker, students and families can connect with outside resources for support beyond educational needs.

School Psychology

School psychologists help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. They collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community for all students.
