5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

I. Superintendents Reports and Updates

COVID Operations Update- Dr. Long gave an update to the board in regards to the most recent protocols about what the reopening might look like. 

COVID Funding Planning- Dr. Long gave a presentation to the board to the board about the different ways they are looking into to best utilize available funding.

BE IT RESOLVED that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approves the disposal of 

1 HP Printer 3005 MUFSD 00100, 1 Dell Cart 00077 and 7 Dell Mobile Computing carts which cease to be of use or of value to the district as listed. 

B.  Reserve Transfers – June 2021  

BE IT RESOLVED that the authorization of the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District be given to transfer up to $60,000 to the Repair Reserve for the 2020-2021 school year.

 

BE IT RESOLVED that the authorization of the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District be given to transfer up to $22,000 to the Employee Benefit Accrued Liability Reserve for the 2020-2021 school year.

 

BE IT RESOLVED that the authorization of the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District be given to transfer up to $52,000 to the TRS Reserve for the 2020-2021 school year.

 

BE IT RESOLVED that the authorization of the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District be given to transfer up to $48,000 to the ERS Reserve for the 2020-2021 school year.

BE IT RESOLVED that the authorization of the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District be given to transfer up to $3,000 to the Workers Compensation Reserve for the 2020-2021 school year.

BE IT RESOLVED that the authorization of the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District be given to transfer up to $10,000 to the Unemployment Reserve for the 2020-2021 school year.

  C. Reserve Transfer – For the 2021-2022 School Year

 

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District authorizes any retiree sick and vacation payouts during the 2021-2022 school year from the Employee Benefit Accrued Liability Reserve.

D. 2021-2022 Safety Plan

 

BE IT RESOLVED that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approves the 2021-2022 District Safety Plan.

E.  Contracts for Approval

BE IT RESOLVED that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District hereby approves the contract between Menands School and Advanced Therapy for the 2021-2022 Extended school year as per the attached agreement.

School District

BE IT RESOLVED that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District hereby approves the SA 10 Instruction Contract between Menands UFSD and the Watervliet City School District for students in grades 9-12 for the 2021-2023 school year.

2021-2023 Intermunicipal Agreement-(Gr. 9-12 Educational Services) North Colonie Central School District

BE IT RESOLVED that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District hereby approves the intermunicipal agreement between Menands UFSD and the North Colonie Central School District for students in grades 9-12 for the 2021-2023 school year. 

2021-2022 Intermunicipal Agreement – (Gr. 9-12 Educational Services)South Colonie

BE IT RESOLVED that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District hereby approves the intermunicipal agreement between Menands UFSD and the South Colonie Central School District for students in grades 9-12 for the 2021-2022 school year. 

 BOCES Cooperative Bidding and Purchasing 

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District hereby adopts the BOCES cooperative bidding contract and food and cafeteria supplies cooperative bidding resolutions for the 2021-2022 school year. 

AMSURE(Formally known as Adirondack Trust Insurance) Contract Renewal

 

BE IT RESOLVED that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District hereby approves the contract renewal with AMSURE Insurance for the 2021-2022 school year. 

Special Education Consulting Services Agreement – Lorraine D. Thompson 

BE IT RESOLVED that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District, hereby approves the Special 

Education Consulting Services Agreement with Lorraine D. Thompson for the 2021-2022 school year. 

Behavioral Transformations Licensed Applied Behavior Analysis Services, PLLC

           BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the contract between Menands School and Behavioral Transformations Licensed 

   Applied Behavior Analysis for the 2021-2022 school year as per attached contract.

BE IT RESOLVED that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District hereby approves the re-appointment of all substitute teachers for the 2021- 2022 school year who were previously appointed through 6/30/21.

10. SUPERINTENDENT RECOMMENDATIONS PROGRAMS

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District hereby approves the CSE/CPSE recommendations as submitted.

II. Health Services Contract 

Enclosed please find a copy of the 2020-2021 Health Services Contracts for students attending private or parochial schools in the following districts:   

III. Albany City School District- 22 students in the amount of $17,130.08

  *The residence of the students has been verified.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District hereby approves the 2020-2021 Health Services Contracts for students attending private or parochial schools as listed.

11. STUDENT MATTERS (Informational Item)

The total estimated enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year to date is 294 (this includes confirmed students for the incoming Kindergarten class). 33 Kindergarten registrations As of 6/30/2021.

12. INFORMATIONAL MATERIAL 

Next Board of Education Meeting – August 9th at 6:30 p.m.
 

13.  MISCELLANEOUS 

Mr. Masline asked that training information be provided for Mrs. Delancy and asked for a board member to mentor Mrs. Delancy. Mr. Nevins said that he would be happy to meet with her.  He also asked the board to complete the superintendent evaluations if they have not already done so. 

Mr. Masline said that he thought the Virtual Calm Down Room on the district website had a lot of good information.

Mrs. Delancy asked if the district could provide bus monitors. 

Dr. Long informed the board that the NYSSBA Convention will be held in October and to let the district clerk know if you plan to attend. 

Mr. Diefenderfer thanked everyone for making all of this possible.
