    2019-2020 Intermunicipal Agreement-(Gr. 9-12 Educational Services) North Colonie Central School District

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the intermunicipal agreement between Menands UFSD and the North Colonie Central School District for students in grades 9-12 for the 2019-2020 school year.

    2019-2020 Intermunicipal Agreement – (Gr. 9-12 Educational Services)South Colonie Central School District

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the intermunicipal agreement between Menands UFSD and the South Colonie Central School District for students in grades 9-12 for the 2019-2020 school year. 

    2019-2020 Intermunicipal Agreement (Technology Services)- South Colonie Central School District

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the intermunicipal agreement for technology services between Menands UFSD and the South Colonie Central School District  for the 2019-2020 school year.

    Durham School Services Contract Extension

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the attached contract between Menands School and Durham School Services at CPI from September 6, 2019 through June 30, 2020. 

    Star & Strand Transportation Contract Extension

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the attached contract between Menands School and Star & Strand Transportation at CPI from September 6, 2019 through June 30, 2020. 

    Star & Strand Transportation Contract – Summer Transportation

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the attached summer transportation contract between Menands School and Star & Strand Transportation from July 3, 2019 through August 18, 2020.

    Erno Enterprises – Contract Extension 

    Enclosed for review is a copy of the memo from Ms. Cietek to extend the contract for landscape services for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school year with Erno Enterprises. 

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the contract extension for landscape services for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school with Erno Enterprises.

    Free and Reduced Lunch Program

    Enclosed for the information of the Board is the Policy Statement for Free and Reduced Price Meals Program. 

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve district participation in the free and reduced lunch program and adopts the family eligibility criteria to assist in determining eligibility for the 2019-2020 school year.

    BOCES Cooperative Bidding and Purchasing 

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District adopt the BOCES cooperative bidding contract and food and cafeteria supplies cooperative bidding resolutions for the 2019-2020 school year. 

    AMSURE(Formally known as Adirondack Trust Insurance) Contract Renewal

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School  District approve the contract renewal with AMSURE Insurance for the 2019-2020 school year in the amount of $31,331. 

    Preliminary BOCES AS-7 Contract for 2019-2020 Services 

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School  District approve the attached Preliminary AS-7 Contract for 2019-2020 Services. 

    Final BOCES AS-7 Contract for 2018-2019 Services

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School  District approve the attached Final AS-7 Contract for 2018-2019 Services.

    Special Education Consulting Services Agreement – Lorraine D. Thompson

    Resolution  BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, hereby approve the Special Education Consulting Services Agreement provided by Lorraine D. Thompson.

    Disposal of Items  

     Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education in accordance with district policy 6900 authorize the disposition of School Lunch Equipment.  As per the attached list.

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the disposal of School Lunch Equipment which ceases to be of use or of value to the district. A list of the items is attached.

    Appointments

    1 FTE  Probationary Spanish Appointment – Patrick Benoit

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District does hereby appoint Patrick Benoit to a 4-year probationary appointment in the 1 FTE Spanish tenure area on MS Step 1 of the current Menands Association of Teachers Salary Schedule contingent upon NYS certification.  Mr. Benoit’s probationary period will begin on September 1, 2019 and will end on or about August 31, 2023. A copy of Mr. Benoit’s resume is attached.

    1 FTE  Probationary Social Studies Appointment – Henry Schweizer

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District does hereby appoint Henry Schweizer to a 4-year probationary appointment in the 1 FTE Social Studies tenure area on MS Step 1 of the current Menands Association of Teachers Salary Schedule.  Mr. Schweizer’s probationary period will begin on September 1, 2019 and will end on or about August 31, 2023. A copy of Mr. Schweizer’s resume is attached.

      1 FTE  Probationary Elementary Appointment – Caitlin Kennedy

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District does hereby appoint Caitlin Kennedy to a 4-year probationary appointment in the 1 FTE Elementary Education tenure area on MS Step 1 of the current Menands Association of Teachers Salary Schedule.  Ms. Kennedy’s probationary period will begin on September 1, 2019 and will end on or about August 31, 2023. A copy of Ms.Kennedy’s resume is attached.

    1 FTE  Probationary Elementary Appointment – Sara Maldonado

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District does hereby appoint Sara Maldonado to a 4-year probationary appointment in the 1 FTE Elementary Education tenure area on MS Step 1 of the current Menands Association of Teachers Salary Schedule. Ms. Maldonado’s probationary period will begin on September 1, 2019 and will end  on or about August 31, 2023. A copy of Ms. Maldonado’s resume is attached.

    Business Office Support Staff Substitute – Sharleen Schaffer

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District appoint Sharleen Schaffer as a Business Office Support Staff Substitute on an as needed basis at $30.00 per hour for the
    2019-2020 school year.

    CSE/CPSE Recommendations 

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the CSE/CPSE  recommendations as submitted.

    Substitute Teachers – Fully Cleared and Substitute Teachers – BOCES 

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the re-appointment of all substitute teachers for the 2019-2020 school year who were previously appointed through 6/30/18.

    Substitute Teacher Compensation 

    Dr. Long recommends that the Board set the substitute teacher pay rate at $100.00 per day.

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District District approve the substitute teacher pay rate at $100.00 per day.

    East Greenbush Special Education Services Contract – 2019-2020 Extended School Year Program

    Enclosed for the Board are copies of the 2019-2020 Special Education Services Contract from the East Greenbush Central School District for 3 students attending the extended school year program.

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the 2019-2020 Special Education Services Contract from the East Greenbush Central School District for the extended school year program.

    Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District Special Education Services Contract – 2019-2020 Extended School Year Program

    Enclosed for the Board are copies of the 2019-2020 Special Education Services Contract from the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District for 1 student attending the extended school year program.

    North Colonie Central School District Special Education Services Contract – 2019-2020 Extended School Year Program

    Grade 8 Trip to Camp Chingachgook 

    Enclosed is a letter from Mrs. Bettinger requesting permission for the eighth grade to attend camp Chingachgook on Lake George from September 9 through September 11, 2019. 

    Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the eighth grade to attend camp Chingachgook on Lake George from September 9 through September 11, 2019.
