Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District accept the revised minutes from the October 15, 2019 and the minutes of the November 12, 2019 meeting.

Discussion Items
Potential possibility to lease property for energy storage.Ben Gorman and Taylor Quartes from Key Capture Energy will be present to share some information with the Board on National Grids desire to improve the electricalinfrastructure around the school and what that could mean for us. Dr. Long will share additional related information. A presentation was given by Key capture energy. The Board and dr. Long will continue to gather information in regards to this proposal.

2020-2021 Budget Calendar
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, hereby approves the attached 2020-2021 Budget Calendar for the purpose of developing the school budget.

Tax Collector’s Report
Enclosed for the information of the Board is the Town of Colonie 2019-2020 School Tax Collection Report and affidavit of Collector C. Michele Zilgme, Town of Colonie, of the warrant in the amount $6,895,236. $6,756,996.77 was collected and transferred and $138,239.23 was uncollected. The Tax Collection Report is available for review upon request.
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District accept the Tax Collection Report as submitted; the affidavit to be signed by each Board member.

Tax Refund – Small Claims Assessment Review Settlement
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, hereby approve the tax refund in the amount of $645.77 as a result of the assessment review of filing # AR115-19.

Donation
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District accepts the donation of $40 form the McCarthy Family. $20 for each child’s homeroom.

Disposal of Items
Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education in accordance with district policy 6900 authorize the disposition of various obsolete items which cease to be of use to the district. A list of items is attached.

Child Rearing Leave Extension- Megan Perfetti, Math Teacher
Enclosed is a letter from Megan Perfetti requesting to extend her unpaid child rearing leave as per Article 2.5 of the MAT Contract through June 30, 2020.
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District accept the letter from Megan Perfetti requesting to extend her unpaid child rearing leave as per Article 2.5 of the MAT Contract from September 3, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

15. SUPERINTENDENT’S COMMENTS
Communication (District Goal #10)- Dr. Long will look into the options that are available to the district to best communicate with the community.
As we enter into Budget Season-January will begin the process for the 2020-2021 Budget.
Upcoming Holiday Season- Dr. Long wished everyone a happy holiday season.
16. PRINCIPAL’S COMMENTS
Citizen/Scholar and Honor Roll- Mrs. schroeder congratulated the children that received awards this quarter and thanked the student representatives for doing a great job.
Parent-Teacher Conferences- students will dismiss early on Thursday December 12 at 11:20 for teacher conferences.
PTA Update- Mrs. Schroeder thanked Mrs. Kieth and everyone that helped to make the family dance a success. It was a very nice event.
17. MISCELLANEOUS
Mr. Diefenderfer thanked the faculty and staff that attended the Trivia Night sponsored by Empower Ethiopia. It was a great turn out.
18. INFORMATIONAL MATERIAL
Parent Teacher Conference Early Release- Thursday December 12, 11:20 am
Holiday Recess- December 23- January 3, No School

19. PUBLIC COMMENT

Mrs. Mercado said that the Dine Out Night at Chipotle met their quota and they will host another Dine Out Night at Il faro on January 16, 2020.
Mrs. Mercado inquired about an update in regards to a workshop that she attended on Diversity. The PTA is planning to hold a Multicultural night this year and would like to see what is the best way to get information out to families to improve family engagement.
