Dear Menands families,
The federal waivers in response to the pandemic which allowed free school meals to be provided to all students will discontinue for the upcoming school year. Due to this change, families will need to complete and submit a free/reduced meal application to determine if your child is eligible for free or reduced-price meals for the upcoming school year.
The 2022-23 Free and Reduced Lunch Application is now available on the Menands website. Free and reduced meals are provided daily based on household size and income. All information is kept strictly confidential. Only one application needs to be submitted per household. You will be notified within 4-5 business days if you qualify for the program.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to submit the completed application to their child’s school or district office BEFORE the start of school each year. A printed copy of the application is also included in the Menands UFSD Students’ First Day Packet mailed to students’ homes in late August.
