A few Menands teachers are putting in time over spring recess to bring some positivity to an unusual location in our school.
Michele Ervin, Rachel McQuade, Trisha O’Connell and Pat Testo are beautifying two of our bathrooms with colorful painted images and encouraging messages.
The group comprises the Sunshine Committee and the idea to brighten up the bathrooms across from the cafeteria was sparked by a post one of the members saw online.
“I saw it on Pinterest,” O’Connell said. “The bathrooms have looked pretty much the same since I went to school here so I thought it would be a fun idea. We want our students to know that they’re seen and they belong here.”
