Evening of the Arts returns after two years on May 17

Dear Parents & Families,

We are excited to share that we will be hosting our Evening of the Arts on Tuesday May 17, coinciding with our school budget vote and Board of Education elections.

For the past two years, we were unable to hold the event as we traditionally would, due to COVID-19 restrictions. This year, we will once again be able to host the event safely and in-person so all of our students will be able to showcase their art, both visual and performing, for families to enjoy.

In order to conduct the event with physical distancing in place, the musical performances will be staggered throughout the evening to allow for a reduced number of individuals in the gymnasium at any one time.

The itinerary for the evening will be as follows:

6- 6:15 p.m.             K-2 Arts Overview & Musical Performance
6:30-6:45 p.m.      3-5 Art Overview & Musical Performance
7- 7:15 p.m.              6-8 Art Overview & Band & Chorus Performance

Artwork will be displayed throughout the building for the entire evening. To guide you through the exhibition, a map of the various exhibits will be provided.

In order for the evening to run smoothly, we are asking for your help with the following:

  • We encourage families to carpool or walk if possible, as parking is limited.
  • Parents and families should enter through the Menands School entrance and reserve the District Office entrance for voters.
  • Though not required, we ask attendees to consider wearing masks while in the building.
  • Consider limiting attendance to immediate family members, if at all possible.

We are looking forward to this opportunity for our students to share their artistic talents. We cannot wait to welcome you back, in-person, for this special evening!

More details will be forthcoming as we approach the event. We hope to see you there!
