The annual Multicultural Night celebration at Menands School drew a crowd of students and parents to the campus.
The May 9 event featured food, fun, dance, and musical performances, as well as information stations that reflect the broad and diverse community that Menands is, said Superintendent Jennifer Cannavo.
More than 20 tables provided information on countries as widespread as Antigua and Ireland, Haiti and India. Area restaurants donated food and community members and students put on demonstrations of dance and other traditions from their homelands.
“This was the perfect opportunity for our students and the community as a whole to learn about and celebrate each other’s diverse culture,” said Cannavo.
