Inside out

Mrs. Nersesian’s third grade students created pictures of their visible and invisible sides while learning about character traits.

a picture a student drew where one side has an eye and a mouth and the other side has a puppy and tic tac toe boardThe class discussed how people can have outside physical characteristics as well as internal characteristics. “We used the terms visible and invisible,” Mrs. Nersesian said. “Invisible being things that are not inherently seen but represent who we are on the inside.”

In Elliana’s picture, she put a picture of a pink and yellow quilt on her “invisible” traits side. She said, “I put a quilt that my grandma made for me before I was born. I sleep with it every time I go to her house. My grandma is very important to me.”
